Today was definitely a Big Day Out. Colin drove us to various places, all not too far from Andover - Avebury Henge (like Stonehenge only more spaced out and free), then Caen Locks, around 29 of them, followed by Lacock Village, 13th century. They make lots of historical dramas in Lacock, and nobody can change the outside of their house because it would not fit in with the image.
We decided that we would like one day to do the canal boat thing in England - maybe with
cousin Dan on one of his trips over, or with Lynda and Colin. I found it interesting how the women hop off and open and close the locks while the men steer.
On the way back to Andover we saw one of the eight visible white chalk horses left in Wiltshire.
We had tea at the White Lion Inn at Wherwell. As with other pubs in England there were
people there with their dogs. So different to this part of the world!
